COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY

Cognitive behavior therapy is a short term patient directed intervention with proven efficacy based in scientific evidence.  Patients work together with therapists to establish mutual goals which are often present oriented.  Patients and therapists design a unique treatment plan to address these goals. Progress is consistently monitored to ensure goal attainment. Treatment gains are then generalized across environments in order to promote maintenance of therapeutic gains over time.

SPECIALIZED DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT

The first step to determining the appropriate avenue for intervention is conducting an assessment. We offer specialized diagnostic assessment with the latest validated measures for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Alzheimer's, Dementia and other memory  and cognitive concerns, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and other behavioral disorders.  These specialized psychological, psycho-educational, and neuropsychological assessments are available for both children and adults. We also offer comprehensive evaluations for OPWDD eligibility and legal guardianship.

BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT

We offer comprehensive, individualized assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities and behavioral problems. Our assessment and intervention procedures are based on the single most efficacious treatment available for Autism Spectrum Disorders- Applied Behavior Analysis. Behaviors that we commonly assess and treat include aggressive, disruptive and destructive behaviors. Tantrums, compulsive and repetitive behaviors that interfere with participation in the home, school, and community settings are also addressed.

MARRIAGE THERAPY

Even the most successful marriages are filled with pitfalls and problems. Even in thriving marriages it can be beneficial to speak to a psychologist to identify maladaptive patterns, and to foster effective problem solving strategies. Conversely, a marriage in trouble will almost always benefit from the expertise and guidance of a psychologist, who can work with a couple to repair past damage. Stable and troubled marriages alike can benefit from an analysis of maladaptive patterns and an increase of effective problem solving strategies.

PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT

Students of all ages struggle in school for a variety of reasons. We are able to provide assessment for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities, and memory problems for children, adults, and seniors. After the assessment is complete a report is written, and an informing conference is held.  Reports incorporate all of the data collected from the assessment, summarize findings, and make individualized recommendations. These recommendations are tailored to help students access services at school.

PARENT/CAREGIVER TRAINING

Parents and other caregivers can be faced with the difficult task of negotiating the behavioral challenges presented by their children. Utilizing evidence based behavioral techniques you can learn to manage these problems with better outcomes and confidence. Caregivers are taught to increase adaptive behavior, reduce problem behavior, improve parent-child interactions, and improve familial interactions.
